Funk has been a staple in the music industry since time immemorial. It has energized all aspects of live music including the the dance floor to the house party, and it has introduced to us a number of talented and gifted musicians. One recent group that has taken that role comes from Germany.
They go by the name of Funkanomics, which is made up of three artists: Juwee, FxFarmer, and Bobby Kudlicz.
The band has introduced a new and fresh style of funk that blends well with the electronic beat of the 21st century. According to their Souncloud page, they have “a sound that is designed for the dance floor and made up of beautiful crunchy bass lines, coupled with pumping grooves. A merger that works and once it starts, can’t be stopped.”
The song I want to show you is a tune that jumped out of the computer screen and into my ears. “The Goonies Island” is described as a “disco inspired bomb filled with horns, slap bass, and hype vocals…Oh and just wait for that incredible lush piano breakdown in the middle”
After you hear listen to it once or five times, take a cruise through their other tracks on Soundcloud. Enjoy!
